Synopsis: Bobby Gould is moving up in Hollywood-recently promoted to Head
of Productions and presented with a business deal from a close colleague, Charlie Fox., that
is bound to bring them “jolly shitloads” of success. However, when an off-handed bet turns
out to be more than he bargained for, Gould is forced to choose either his assured success
or a risky ideal. David Mamet's brilliant black comedy explores the relationship between
ambition and truth, art and commercialism, and power and responsibility.
